We're All Experts in Something: Web Income Sources for Infopreneurs

By Matt Bacak

Let's face it - we all have a vault of experience and information in the back of our heads, shaped by our experiences. We're all an expert in something. Maybe your expertise is family-related. Maybe it's something health-related, such as struggling with a serious illness or obesity. Maybe you've worked within a certain industry for 15 years or managed to juggle two jobs, raise three kids, and still finish your college degree on a shoestring budget. The truth is that if you've experienced it, and lived through it, you have information to offer. Somebody out there is looking for information, knowledge, and experience on the exact same topic. Usually, there turns out to be a whole lot of some bodies looking for it.

If you have any body of knowledge, in any specific topic, you can easily develop a line of internet products that creates profit. In fact, you can base an entire product line on these products. The most exciting aspect selling of information on the web is the fact that your audience is looking for multiple formats. People have different learning styles and no two customers really learn the way. Some people learn well with online courses, while others would rather listen to the same information on CD while driving to work. Other will read up on topics and look for associated products. They all, however, have some money to spend.

How infoprenuers make money on the web:

· Information products. An ebook or report can easily be designed and published in a matter of days or hours. You can sell online courses, seminars, and other informational products as well. Don't discount selling offline products - many people will sign up for a telephone seminar online or register for a retreat. Some of them prefer to have a workbook in a binder mailed to their house. A website is the easiest way to market these products. Teaching others and providing networking opportunities is often its own reward - but it's even better when you begin to turn a steady profit.

· Affiliate programs. Set up a website on a specific topic without a product in mind. It's easy to find an affiliate program that will match your visitor's interests. There are many affiliate programs on the web that send you money as long as a customer is active. Recurring revenue is ideal because it puts you in a position to receive money long after you've stopped actually working for it. Read affiliate terms carefully to maximize your profits, and pay special attention to recurring revenue opportunities.

· EBay affiliate and eBay direct sales. No matter what you're trying to sell, it's a simple fact - you can't ignore eBay - it's a monster. With 160 million registered users, EBay not only allows direct income opportunities, also helps you generate leads. You can convert customers from eBay to your own website by adding them to your lists and directing them to your website.

· Google Adsense and other ad publishers. Google now pays people to publish relevant ads on their websites. A content-rich website on specific topics can easily convert to a money-making venture with the help of ad syndicates. Wherever you have content, Google Adsense allows you to place advertisements. Every time those ads are clicked, you make income. Yahoo Publisher's Network is also scheduled to follow suit soon based on this model. Chitika and Konsera also have similar ad programs. These sites, will not as large as Google, also have great earning potential. To participate, you must have a fully functional website. The more content you have, the more room you have to display your ads.

Don't be afraid to try different topics and formats for the information you're selling. Your passion and experience will leak through in all of your efforts, so don't worry if you are not the best speaker or writer in the world. Eventually, you'll have the money to farm out much of the product development anyway. All of the information products discussed here are incredibly inexpensive to make and can easily turn a profit overnight.
