Journeyman Line Hits the Nail on the Head with Customizable Tool Belts

By Elisabeth Lawrence

They've been on jobs as exotic as the creation of wall coverings for the Emir of Kuwait's palace, and as highbrow as the construction of a $300 million performing arts center in West Virginia. And although the Journeyman Line (www.journeymanline.com) of tool belts has been used on some pretty famous building sites, these lightweight, versatile tool belts are being enthusiastically used by trade professionals who appreciate the Journeyman's uniquely customizable design of Pro-Pack and Pro-Pack Plus, with unique design features that make every size job easier and more organized.

"Having to rummage around for the proper tool interrupts the rhythm of your work," says Jon Rose, owner of Journeyman Line. "Even if you have a top quality tool belt, you can still experience frustration when there are too few pouches, the pouches are the wrong size, or the sleeves aren't where you need them to be."

The Pro-Pack and Pro-Pack Plus circumvent both frustration and delays by offering an interchangeable modular tool pouch fastening system that allows the professional, regardless of trade, the ability to customize tool placement. "Although the tool belts come preassembled, all you need is a screwdriver to move the pouches to any location that suits your fancy," says Rose. "The pouches are stackable, and can be attached to the belt wherever you need them - they even attach right to each other."

Because they are customizable, the tool belts offer tradesmen and tradeswomen the ability to choose the types of pouches that best fit their needs. "An electrician could add pouches that have small pockets," says Rose, "while an inspector could add an extra hammer sleeve to hold his mag flashlight."

Both the Pro-Pack and Pro-Pack Plus feature the customizable tool belt, but the Pro-Pack Plus goes one step further by including a suspender-like harness that acts as a weight distribution system. "Tools can become incredibly heavy," says Rose, "and the weight distribution harness is designed to move with you, evenly distributing the weight of your tool belt and relieving pressure on your back and hips."

"The tool belt system was designed by a master tradesman," Rose continued. "He went to extreme lengths to make it durable, strong, and useful." The Fastener Pouches even come with "knuckle guards," automotive-grade velour lining to protect the knuckles.

Journeyman Line has revolutionized the way trade professionals work and carry their tools. In addition to the Pro-Pack and Pro-Pack Plus, the company has designed a fall arrest harness with an integrated tool belt, business cases that act as mobile offices as well as tool carriers, and a tool tote that incorporates customizable pouches into a spine that allows trade professionals to carry their tools and hang them on a ladder rung, scaffolding, or pipe.

While Journeyman Line products are designed for top tradesmen and tradeswomen, weekend do-it-yourselfers find the value-priced Pro-Pack perfect for home projects. "We are proud to be able to offer innovative and affordable tool belts to all market segments," Rose concludes.
