People who have an idea for a website sometimes require help in finding out relevant content to add to their website. This is where article websites are invaluable as you are able to use the articles on your site for free as long as you make all the links live.
There are three article websites I regularly use for this purpose:

searchwarp.com
You should be able to find relevant articles on the subject matter of your website which will include lots of keywords to enable search engines to pick up your site.
It is also worthwhile submitting your own articles to these websites. There are number of reasons for this, firstly other people may want to use your article on their website. At the bootom of the article you are able to include a link to your own website, therefore when somebody includes it on their website this gives you a backward link.
As we are all aware the number of backward links a website has is becoming increasingly important and the more links you have, the more visitors to your website you are likely to get.
Many people also read this articles on the article websites which could in turn result in more visitors to your site.
If these article websites are not sufficient or if you want original content you could try a website like elance.com. This site has many experts in different fields and is a way of outsourcing work.
Other ways of promoting your website as well as writing articles is pay per click advertising. Programs such as google adwords can prove to be a very useful and beneficial way of attracting additional visitors to your website. Text link adverts on a high traffic website is another popular option.
In my opinion writing articles is probably the best way of promoting your website and building up the number of your backward links. This can be very time consuming, not so much writing the article but submitting it to the article websites. There is a website at articles-submission.com which for a small fee submits your article to twenty of these websites.
