The Top 3 Fundraisiers for 2005

By Michelle Pearson

This has been an astounding year for fundraising organizations. Our website has become one of the most popular destinations on the internet for people looking for useful tips and strategies for successful fundraising. Every month, we have featured a series of articles detailing some creative ways to raise money for your organization. The following were some of the more successful, based on popularity and overall effectiveness.

"Getting the Best out of your Volunteers" was one of our most well-received articles. It contained a wealth of information for people and organizations that rely on the hard work of volunteers to create successful fundraising campaigns. The article dealt with a number of specifics, including strategies for maintaining a positive outlook, providing guidance and leadership, and suggestions on how to reward your volunteers for all of their hard work. Of all of the articles we published this year, this was one that caught the particular interest of our readers.

"Basic tips for First time Coordinators" was another article that was very popular with our readers. It seems that there are many people out there doing fundraising work for organizations that simply do not have the budget to ensure that their staff is properly trained in the latest and greatest fundraising tactics. This article was written from an organizational standpoint, to serve as a point of reference for first time fundraising coordinators. There is some excellent information on fundraising events and products, as well as some timely advice regarding organizational goal-setting.

"From the Junkyard to the Bank" was also an extremely popular article. It detailed the ways in which organizations can benefit from establishing an automobile donation program. It provided readers with a summary of how car donation programs actually work, and some advice on the pitfalls to avoid when performing this type of fundraising activity. We received a lot of reader feedback regarding this article, and it seems a number of organization were able to benefit greatly from the information contained therein.

As this year comes to an end, we wish all of our readers nothing but success in their fundraising efforts for 2006. Rest assured that we will be there to support you every step of the way. As mentioned already, our site has witnessed incredible success this year partially due to readers like you. Thank you kindly for your support, and we look forward to being there to assist you in the years to come. Have a wonderful holiday, everyone.
