My House Of Prayer A Den Of Thieves

By Irvin L. Rozier

Jesus went to the temple one day
His purpose was to kneel and pray
As he approached the entrance door
He saw money changers tables on the floor

With righteous anger, authority and zeal
He cast out all who were not humble and real
Those that were only there to buy and to sell
Items they thought would keep them from hell

With small cords Jesus made a big whip
The tables full of money he did tip
His righteous anger was plain to see
Against those who sold salvation for a fee

Jesus cleansed the temple with force
He rode a donkey, not a rolls royce
Then the blind and the lame came to him
He prayed to the Father and healed all of them

Jesus restored his temple to a house of prayer
He said come unto me, I will meet you there
My temple was meant for worship and praise
And not a place for money to raise

Modern day temples are lavish places
But can you see Jesus on the peoples' faces
All the fine buildings will crumble and fall
No matter how wide, no matter how tall
