What do you need to know about social anxiety disorder By Mansi gupta
Were we all born with the same courage, self-assurance, boldness…there would have been no rule of the jungle, no need of shelter or refuge under artificial organizations like government, every individual and place would have been impregnable, the world would have never been what it is today. But since Homo sapiens are different from each other in innumerable aspects, each one of them cannot possess same nerve and confidence.
Though the degree of these attributes vary from person to person, there are some extreme cases where individuals dread the very thought of confronting the public. They go berserk, numb and the like when it comes to facing the outsiders. Medical science has termed this sort of disorder as the 'social anxiety disorder'. As the name suggests, the disorder is the phobia of society. Here, the person wants to dwell in his own world. He does not desire to step out of his cocoon. For he fears that other people might poke fun mortify and denigrate him. There are several reasons posited behind this type of sickness.
Parents give birth to the child but regrettably along with it they also transfer the vulnerability to almost all those ailments which they had undergone in their life till then. So, those who are born of parents with a background of this disorder are likely to develop it.
An imbalance of the neurotransmitter serotonin in the brain can lead to problems like depression, social anxiety etc.
Any incident that has made a person confront lot of humility and disgrace can very well develop this disorder in him. In other words, a beleaguered individual is too susceptible to acquire the social anxiety disorder. For such incidents directly hit on one's psychology, rendering him a victim of social anxiety illness.
Surroundings too caste a deep effect on a person's personality and living. Many a times, particularly in childhood when one is unaware of his potential, what other people around are doing castes a profound impact. So if A has qualms reading aloud a lesson in class, his friend B too might take it for granted that he even cannot do that.
Those children who are ill treated by their parents due to some or the other reason for instance for not getting good grades, poor in sports and in making friends etc. are even liable to grow with an unusual attitude towards society.
.
Varying with the causes are the types of social anxiety.

The Symptoms-
Social nervousness becomes explicit via a person's strange conduct. He may have a broken memory and conked out thoughts. Such people can be the biggest paranoids; they feel that other people are always observing them to discredit them. But despite of this peculiar behavior, before treating for this ailment doctors make it sure that there is no other problem wrecking his psychology.
The Medication-
The best help to these patients comes from a psychiatrist, who can study their mind, filter their thoughts and enable them to come out of their anguish.
Anti Social Anxiety Pills have proved to be significantly beneficial. One of the main drugs is Paxil. Paxil also has side effects. It may lead to sexual problems, nausea, perspiration etc. Depression patients should be ultra careful before taking Paxil for it may adversely enhance one's nervousness.
Besides Paxil other anti-depressant drugs such as Xanax, Valium and Fluoxetine etc. are prescribed as a cure to social anxiety disorder. However, all these medicines have side effects.
